My Mothers Day

I had such an amazing Mother's Day, I feel so lucky, loved and appreciated! I don't often need the reassurance but its nice to be told that I'm doing something right!

My day started off by lots of lovely and thoughtful pressies and cards in bed, not a bad way to start the day! We then had to rush off  for some Pottery Painting, it was so much fun. I love being creative and the kiddies do to, it was definitely an activity we all loved doing together. I am doing a blog post on this later this week as it would make a fantastic thing to do in the upcoming Easter Half Term. So keep a look out for that.

The pottery painting is located in a stunning garden centre with a difference, inside there are some unique and quite quirky little shops. Amongst them was an antiques and vintage shop, I managed to have a good browse and a bit of dress up in some vintage goodies.

We then headed on to Cliveden Park, Cliveden is in my top five National Trust places to go, I have been quite a few times before but every time we go we discover some where new. We grabbed some lunch there, the sun was shining brightly so we could sit outside which was lovely touch.

After a good long walk we grabbed some ice creams and headed home, I had such a lovely day now to figure out how I can get this sort of treatment every weekend *wink wink*

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 2 - Mutagen Mayhem

Tiger is a huge fan of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so when we were asked to review the Season 2 DVD Mutagen Mayhem we jumped (or should I say, did a flying jump kick!) at the chance. Tiger already has the Teenage Mutant Ninaj Tutles (TMNT) Season 1 on DVD and has watched it so often I was delighted to hear season 2 Mutagen Mayhem had been released! Tiger's best friend is also a huge fan so being a Friday I thought it would be nice to invite him over for a TMNT Season 2 Mutagen Mayhem movie night, wearing TMNT costumes and of course having pizza for dinner (all TMNT fans know pizza are the turtles favorite food!)

After watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 2 Mutagen Mayhem I asked the little lads what they thought of it...

Did you like the new TMNT Season 2 Mutagen Mayhem DVD?
Yes!!! It was great!

What do you like about TMNT?
The turtles are cool ninjas, they are super fast with cool ninja moves and fight all the baddies and save the day.

Was it as good as the first DVD season 1?
Yes, better actually as there are new baddies!!

Which was your favorite episode?
The one with the aliens!! But the aliens got away so there will have to be another one.

Was there anything you didn't like?
Yes the pizza with mushrooms on it, we don't like mushrooms!!

Anything you didn't like about the DVD?
(Looks at me as if they can't quite understand the question) No, it was the NEW TMNT DVD!

So there you have it, the little lads loved TMNT Season 2 Mutagen Mayhem DVD, I thought it was as good as season 1, if you have a TMNT fan they will be sure to love it too.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Season 2 Mutagen Mayhem Volume 1 is now available on DVD RRP £9.99 to purchase your own copy click here

Disclosure: I was given a complementary copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 2 - Mutagen Mayhem for the purpose of reviewing. All opinions however are my own.

Army Style Jacket

Army Style Jacket

At the weekend we decided to have a huge spring clean and The Mister wanted to get rid of this Army Style Jacket, I tried to discourage him as it looks really nice on him and it is less than a year old. I think I was giving it the hard sell and he jokingly said "if you like it so much why don't you wear it" so that's exactly what I did! and I love it!! I teamed the army style jacket with a simple tee and a few gold accessories making it a little more feminine, but only a little. I roughly turned the sleeves up but like that it's oversized. So this little beauty now lives in the middle section of our wardrobe!

Mothers Day Gift Ideas for a Fashion Mummy

I thought I would get my Mothers Day Gift Ideas for a fashion mummy out there especially as Mothers Day is coming up very soon. My Christmas wish list was such a success that The Mister actually bought me the leather jacket (yes I am a very lucky lady!)

Truth be told I don't want flowers or chocolates for Mother's Day, I can't be the only mum out there? What I would really like is Clothes, Shoes and Accessories! It's what I really REALLY love, those and a hand made card or daisy's picked from the garden by the little lads, it's the little things that stick with me. However you if you are looking for Mother's Day gift ideas for a mummy who likes fashion then look no further, these are great pieces to add to their spring wardrobe...

Greys Court - National Trust

National Trust greys court

Greys Court is definitely one of my favorite National Trust places, for me its up there with Bailsdon Park, The Vyne and Clivedon. Greys Court makes a great family day out, from strolling through the stunning court yard gardens to an amazing maze and play area for the kiddies. There is a stately home you can have a look around which I looooove to do but we were so lucky with the weather that we decided to make the most of it.

As we are National Trust members (and have definitely made our money back several times over, I highly recommend becoming a member as you are never short of lovely places to go) we tend to treat ourselves to cream teas and cup cakes for the kiddies. The restaurant is in the middle of a amazing court yard with a fantastic view.

We spent the whole afternoon at Greys Court and all left having had a brilliant family day out.

First Hair Cut - Living Arrows

First hair cut

Babys first hair cut

MASSIVE Milestone!!! Beaux's first hair cut!!! I waited until both Tiger and Beaux were at least 18 months old before they had their first hair cut, not for any particularly reason it just worked well  for both of them as they have quite similar hair at that age. It was an impromptu visit to the hairdressers, I was walking passed and having had moved Beaux's fringe from his eyes for about the millionth time decided that today was the day and went in to see if they had time for a quick trim. We had already decided to grow Beaux's hair and not to cut into a style until he's older and use to sitting in the barbers chair.

I thought it would be best if he sat on my lap as there was absolutely no way he would sit still for the poor hairdressers who was really lovely and patient with us both, I say us both as I was close to tears!! he is growing up so fast!!

After plenty of wriggling and luckily no snips to his ears! He was all done, its not hugely different to what he had before but just looks a bit thicker having gotten rid of those wispy baby hair. I of course asked to keep a few curls for the keep sake box and there we have it Beaux's first hair cut, what a big boy!

Blue Shirt Dresses - Spring is here

Blue Shirt Dress

Blue Shirt Dress

Blue Shirt Dress

Spring is here, well for this week anyway!! And yes I was one of the 'over keen-os' that couldn't wait to leave my winter coat at home and embrace the sun! I didn't go over board and kept it simple with a blue shirt dress, black tights and ankle block heeled boots. This blue shirt dress is from Urban Outfitters, I bought it last year in the end of summer sales so I've hunted out some other lovely shirt dresses for you (below)

Shirt dresses are a great piece for you to have in your spring/summer wardrobe and you can style them in so many different ways. I would happily wear mine with a pair of leggings and trusty battered Converse or out in the evening with a pair of stiletto heels and drop a button or two from the top (ooh err!) I added a belt to mine to give me a bit of shape but if you are slimmer I think it looks lovely loose too.

Living Arrows - Growing up

Editing these photos bought tears to my eyes, I can't believe how fast Tiger is growing up! I swear it happens over night, this is why I am so over the top with the old shutter, I want to remember and capture as many precious moments of my little lads as I can.

Its bitter sweet but I do however love that he is growing up to be quietly confident, self assured, loving and hilarious little lad but slow down a little, I feel like I am forever trying to catch up, I don't want to miss a moment.

#NyNyStyleProject Feb

#NyNyStyleProject Right to Left: Pastel, Necklace, Favorite, Bath Time, Perfume, Skirt, Skin Care, Comfy, Bows, Woolly For all of my interpretation of the style prompts see the Little Likely Lads Instagram Account
I am I loving the New Year New You Style Project, in January I found the Style Project was encouraging me to dig to the back of the wardrobe to find 'that floral top' or 'those bargain boots' but Febuary has been different. I am now finding inspiration from others who are also joining in the Style Project, my favorite was a denim shirt layered underneath a jumper (sorry I can't remember whose photo it was, so if it was yours please shout!)  or Clarks amazing Brogues range, who knew?! Their range is amazing and I will definitely be treating myself to a pair of these this spring!!!

Special Brotherly Moment - Living Arrows

This was taken from an impromptu visit to our new favorite park, the sun was shining a little sniff of spring (which I am absolutely gagging for!) We collected Tiger from school, scooter in hand and went straight to the park. Both little lads burned off some energy and was so well behaved. I received some excellent news while we were out THEN to top it off this happened!! Beaux wanted to ride on Tiger's scooter and instead of shooing him off (which lets face is what would usually happen) He helped him on and slowly and carefully pushed him down the path. Beaux was delighted by getting a ride shouting 'weeeee' and Tiger was delighted by his big brother act, he was so proud and so was I of our little lads.
