Finding BIG Family Holiday DISCOUNTS #ABTAEarlyBird

Just like most families we struggle with the costs of family holidays abroad especially since Tiger started school and can only holiday during half terms/summer holidays. The prices really shoot up during this time and in fact since Beaux turned 2yrs old and needed his own seat on the plane we haven't been able to afford to go abroad. Last year we chose to holiday in the UK instead, it has been lovely and I now see holidaying in the UK in a whole new bright light. But truth be told i'm a sun worshiper and quite frankly I do not like to put all of my trust in the British summer, I want to sit by a pool or on a beach being roasted! I am desperate to go abroad on holiday as a family and have made it my mission to make it happen this year! I think getting organised and booking early is key.

ABTA (UK Travel trade association for Tour Operators and Travel Agents) recently got in touch to let me know about their #ABTAEarlyBird campaign. ABTA Members (Tour Operators and Travel Agents to you and I) are currently offering rewards for booking your holidays early, such as big discounts, free child places and low deposits, so of course I had to check it out.

I had a good browse of their ABTA Earlybird Map, a live map of deals from ABTA Members as they happen. The map is really user friendly and so easy to navigate. You can instantly see how many ABTA Member deals there are in the places of the world you would like to visit, you simple click on that area and it will take you directly to all of the latest deals. If maps aren't your thing there is also a list directly below of all of the countries an ABTA member has deals in, I'm a visual person so I liked using the map.

There are lots of different types of holidays and deals through the ABTA Members but I was keeping a beady eye out for those specifically aimed at families during the summer holidays. I came across a Mark Warner Lakitira holiday which looks pretty amazing with great savings!

I can definitely see the benefits in booking early, there is much more availability and choice, all the best deals haven't already been taken (like the free child places) and generally just getting more for your money.

We haven't ever considered booking this early in the year before as straight after Christmas money is really tight, but with the low initial deposits means we can budget accordingly throughout the year. Its definitely making me want to get booking and cheer me up from these January blues.
