I did warn you that the prep for Christmas in my house has already begun! As the little lads get older and more engulfed in the spirit of Christmas the more Christmas traditions I've added. I didn't realise that they had even become traditions at all until I asked Tiger and Beaux if they would prefer not to have the DIY Advent Calendar I make each year and have a Lego Advent instead, they looked at me as if I had told them that I had put out a hit on Father Christmas!!!
Tiger said it was one of his favourite things about Christmas, that and the Christmas Eve Box. So I guess these traditions will be here to stay and actually I love the thought that when they are grown and look back at their Christmas they will have lots of fond memories and may even continue some of the traditions with their own families.
1. DIY Advent Calendar - For us this really kicks off our Christmas, it goes up a week before the 1st December. Its filled up with toys, chocolates and Christmas activities. Our first activity is 'Decorate the Christmas Tree' I can't wait!
2. Breakfast with Santa - Like most families we visit Santa every Christmas but we really loved 'Breakfast with Santa' at our local Wyevale Garden Centre so much so that we are doing it again this year, but this time we are having tea with the big fella instead.
3.Cool Christmas Jumpers Are a must! We all get new Christmas jumpers each year.
4. Personalised Christmas Cards (OR Calendars) Since writing this post, Tigers school have started making and printing Christmas cards made of his drawings, which I adore, he really is very creative! We send these out to friends and family but every year I make a Christmas Calendar made up photos of The Littles as gifts for the Grandparents.
5.Christmas Eve Box I think this tradition in most family homes now, we've been doing if for a few years and something The Littles really look forward to.
6.Hot Chocolate Cocktails - So simple but you MUST try this, so quick and easy but a real Christmas treat!
